About Us

Photo of Paul Rudling

Paul Rudling founded Blade Dynamics in 2007 with the purpose of advancing wind turbine rotor technology through design, engineering and processing, to enable the creation of blades suitable for the modern energy business. With investment from Dow and AMSC, and headquarters at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in Louisiana, the company is entering the blade market with transformational technology.

Paul drove composite technology forward for thirty years as the founder and head of SP Systems. SP transformed marine and wind energy composites from basic boatbuilding into today's advanced techniques, with relentless innovation and continuous technical development. Blade Dynamics is the logical progression of this pursuit of excellence in composites, at a time when the need for technology to enable larger and more efficient wind turbines has never been greater.

The delivery of wind energy that is more cost effective than fossil fuel requires industrial production of turbines with rotors that improve performance and reliability whilst reducing costs. Blade Dynamics' patent applied for technologies and designs, combined with the expertise of its scientific and engineering resource have been assembled specifically to deliver this.

Partnership with Dow Chemical and American Superconductor was announced in August 2010 and positions the company for growth in the US and international markets. More about Blade Dynamics' partnership with Dow and AMSC
